e-deologies I

1) Libertarian Neo Monarchism
Drawing on the work of Hans Herman Hoppe, Curtis Yarvin (aka Mencius Moldbug), as well as other Neo Reactionary online personalities, seek to privatize all of society including the state. Monarchy is private ownership of government itself. The future they envision is a cloud-based feudalism ruled by benevolent dictator CEO’s.

2) Left Egoist Transhumanism
Left Egoist Transhumanists seek to improve the individual human subject through advancements in science and technology. In researching this iconography, I asked several left-wing scholars to identify the center symbol (red) but found no definitive answer. It is likely a collage of clip-art used to signify an artisans union.

3) Mutual Transhumanist Social Democratic Distributist Georgism
A highly ethical society in which private farmland is administered by the state. Family units each own their individual means of subsistence (the farm) and are entitled to the full value of what they produce. Families are largely self-sufficient and do not rely on markets to obtain the necessary goods for survival. This and a bunch of other internet stuff.

4) Anarcho Primitivist Caliphatism
This term used to describe two different movements; 1) peasant led anti-clerical struggles against repressive theocratic rule, or 2) a hyperbolic version of anarchist writer Hakim Bey’s interest in primitivism and Sufi Islam. The center text is the shahada; “there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah”.

5) The New European Union
A design proposal for the post-Brexit European Union. This combines familiar elements of the various tri-band flags of France, Germany, Croatia, Estonia, Ireland, Italy and others.

6) Monarcho Syndicalism
In 1922, “A Revolucao”, a conservative newspaper, served as the mouthpiece for Francisco Preto and encouraged the formation of Integralist trade unions. “A Revolucao” advocated for an alliance between the crown and the traditional catholic proletariat against the bourgeois capitalist class.

7) Trans Strasserism
This flag began as a viral post in r/vexillology by a political extremist transgender sex worker. It was later adopted in fringe corners of the internet and is frequently invoked online as an example of long tail political ideologies.

8) United Ireland
This image was auto-generated by a Twitter bot that randomly selected the United Kingdom and Ireland as its source material. The post ignited a bitter flame war in the comments and enraged Irish nationalists online.

e-deologies II

9) Queer Transhumanist Anarchism
A combination of queer anarchist pink and anarcho-transhumanist blue is emblazoned with a red star to signal a left political alignment.

10) Progress Pride Constitutional Monarchy
This flag was first unveiled as the Twitter pfp for the UK Parliament in June of 2020. It was quickly picked up in a story by Breitbart that became a viral sensation.

11) Anarcho Collectivist Islamo Minarchism
A triple headed Gadsen snake, representing the unity of individuals, sits atop a field of collectivist red (top) and minarchist blue (below).

12) Christian Anarchism
The red and black of Anarcho-syndicalism, commonly associated with the CNT during the Spanish Civil War as well as many others today, is overlaid with the christian cross.

13) Post Brexit European Union
Visually effective but terribly inaccurate, the missing star is meant to represent the UK's departure from the EU. Unfortunately for the creator of this flag, the dozen stars do not signify individual nations but instead represent their agreed points of unity. The EU contains 27 countries in total.

14) Robo Sexual
Yeah, this is exactly what it sounds like.

15) American Monarchism
Thirteen stars represent the American colonies for an alternate history in which the United States gained independence from Britain but appointed its own monarch rather than becoming a republic.

16) Anarcho Capitalist Individualist Transhumanism
A combination of capitalist yellow, individualist cyan and transhumanist blue over the customary anarchist black.

e-deologies III

17) Islamo Nazbol
A nationalistic theocracy that is economically left but culturally conservative. The communist hammer symbolizes the power of the industrial working class, paired with a sword symbolizing fascist military might. The moon and crescent represent Allah’s guidance along the path of life.

18) Anarcho Capitalist Voluntarist Pacificism
New Hampshire Free State activist, Dennis Pratt, was deplatformed from Quora after engaging in lengthy debates over libertarian ethics across 1800 unique comment threads. His writings espouse the desire for a forceless and stateless society whose private property rights allow for voluntary transactions within a free market.

19) Anarcho Collectivist Capitalist Mutualism
*exhales* sometimes the people who make these don’t really understand one (or both) of the ideologies. In this case it might be all three. Ancaps and Ancoms will often express support for Mutualism, a political philosophy associated with Pierre-Joseph Proudhon. But you can’t have private AND collective ownership. Tbh this guy probably thinks the snake is cool and I hope he reads a book in the near future.

20) Trans Korean
Although he is of British descent, influencer Oli London identifies as South Korean. In 2021, his “racial transition” attracted worldwide attention and stirred debate around the validity of being transracial. In 2022, London transitioned genders (then back again) and now appears on right-wing media outlets such as Newsmax as an outspoken detransitioner and devout christian.

21) Center for Political Innovation
Founded by a disparate group of YouTubers and content creators, the CPI described itself as a Marxist-Leninist organization in the age of multi-polarity. Blending historical narratives and tendencies from the left with strange sympathies for the far right, they orchestrated a variety of IRL spectacles that caught online media attention. After a series of allegations from former members, the organization dissolved in 2022.

22)Primitivist Juche
Primitivist green overlays the North Korean flag for an isolationist society that rejects both technology and personal freedom.

23) American K9 Tracker Uniz
This is real. It’s not American furry-ism lol. The symbol is sometimes used as a patch for police service animals in the field.

24) Buddhist Anarchism
The dharma wheel (left) and anarchist ‘A' (right) border the Tibetan endless knot (center). Communist red and anarchist black signify an anti-hierarchical, stateless society of collective ownership. No material wealth or political power will grant permanent happiness—unenlightened satisfaction is an illusion that only perpetuates samsara.

e-deologies IV

25) New Federal State of China
A political movement and lobby group created by Steven Bannon and Guo Wengui with the stated aim of overthrowing the Chinese Communist Party. The group was founded in 2020 and has since staged IRL protests in the US, South Korea, Canada, Australia and more.

26) Anarcho Pacificist Egosim
Max Stirner (center) is a post-Hegelian philosopher whose work addresses social alienation from a radical anarchist perspective. Pacificist white, Egoist teal and Anarchist black represent a stateless and non-violent society where individuals pursue their own egoistic goals outside conventional notions of legality or property.

27) Anarcho Transhumanist Solarpunk
Radical life extension and morphological freedom flourish within a sustainable, post-capitalist future. Science, nature and communal space are intertwined through avant garde architectural forms and renewable energy.

28) Austro Libertarian Distributism
lol okay, so there is always one of these in every bunch. Distributism is a political philosophy that rejects lassiez-faire capitalism AND state socialism. Distributists believe that the economy functions best when all citizens have their own small holdings of private property and are largely self-sufficient and/or members of cooperatives. Meanwhile, Austrian economics is a deeply individualist libertarian philosophy that seeks to minimize (or abolish) the state and to radically expand the free market. So my best guess is that this guy wants the state to divide up land and property into individual allotments for small business owners… and then go full ancap to see what happens? You see a lot of online libertarian types make the argument that free markets would *actually* work perfectly if we just reset and leveled out property from the start.

29) Traditional Slavic Agrarianism
A neo-paganist, autarkic society subsists through local farming, time honored tradition and familial stewardship of the land. The Nemiza (center) represents the Slavic god of misery who brings death but also delivers reincarnated souls to new life.

30) Young American Students for Liberty
A student activist organization promoting libertarian, classical liberal and conservative ideology. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, the YAL has active chapters in high schools and college campuses across the United States. This flag was used in the promotional materials and set design for their annual conference, “Revolution 2022”, in Orlando, Florida with speakers Ron Paul, Tulsi Gabbard and others.

31) Christian Nationalism
Recently popularized by conservative figures like Andrew Torba, founder of the conservative social media platform Gab, and Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Christian Nationalism understands the United States as an essentially Christian country in its founding and history. Christian Nationalists seek to restrict immigration and to end the separation of church and state. Similar groups exist in Canada, Finland, Russia, Scotland and more.

e-deologies V

32) Arab Communism
A utopian political ideology that builds on the already existing label of “Arab Socialism”, associated with Ba’athism in Iraq and Syria. These previous political experiments rejected internationalism in favor of a dictatorial one-party state. Instead, Arab Communism seeks a national liberation struggle, lead by organized workers, that preserves pan-Arab culture while overthrowing imperialism and class society.

33) Pragmatic Socialism
The peaceful and non-violent transition to an equitable society. Pacifist white borders socialist red behind the symbol of a black gear, used to represent the industrial workforce. The socialist rose signifies the promise of a better life under socialism, not just the bare essentials of bread, but art, music, education, nature and more.

34) Praxis
Founded in 2021, Praxis is a start-up company seeking to build a new sovereign city-state in a special economic zone. The flag depicts a “Black Sun”, or Sonnenrad, a symbol popular with far right groups.

35) Effective Accelerationism
Effective Accelerationism seeks a technological singularity alongside the emergence of artificial intelligence. Its iconography depicts a parabolic curve of rapidly increasing technological advancement. The movement has significant philosophical overlap with Effective Altrusim but rejects anthropocentrism. Instead, e/acc understands humanity as the stewards of an emergent techno-capital singularity.

36) Anarchist Unity
A rallying cry for anarchists of all tendencies to unite under a common banner. The color stripes signify (from top to bottom): Egoists, Mutualists, Anarcho-Communists, Queer Anarchists, Feminists, Anarcho-Collectivists, Transhumanists, Pacifists, Individualists, Platformists, Primitivists, Syndicalists, the Post-Left and Green Anarchists.

37) LGBTQIAUSSR
A progressive vision of gender identity and sexual orientation merged with the symbolism of the Soviet Union. Similar icons are used online by sincere left-wing groups and satire accounts alike. It can often be hard to tell the difference between the two.

38) Anarcho Mutualist Distributism
An anarchist society that dramatically restricts the scope of private property. Individuals may only own the land and property that they reside at or cultivate themselves. Resources are equitably predistributed and individuals may exchange their goods through a free market.

39) Queer Anarcho Primitivism
A ruthless critique of industrial civilization. Green-and-Pink Anarchy posits queerness as the embodiment of “the other”, a condition created by our corrupt and oppressive mass society. They advocate for insurrection over conventional notions of workplace organization, reform or revolution.

40) Libertarian Georgist Hoppeanism
Georgism is an economic philosophy that advocates for the privatization of property and the socialization of land. Natural monopolies and resources are managed as public utilities, often redistributed as a basic income, while businesses are operated by individuals. Hoppeanism is anti-democratic, pro-market ideology organized around private communities with deeply conservative cultural values.

e-deologies VIe-deologies V

41) Anarcho Brat
The anarchist black slash meets the popular Brat meme, based on the album by artist Charli XCX, which became synonymous with (failed) presidential candidate Kamala Harris. The flag first appeared as part of a left-wing protest outside the Democratic National Convention in 2024. It was later burned by another member of the same crowd. It remains unclear whether the flag was originally intended as a critique or an endorsement.

42) Pine Tree Party
Mike Ma is a far-right online provocateur and the creator of the Pine Tree Party, a loose online movement that rejects urban life in favor of eco-nationalism. The tree iconography makes reference to the famous “appeal to heaven” flag, a traditional symbol of New England during the 1770’s that argues for the right to revolution. Some members of the group advocate more extreme measures such as ousting illegal immigrants and sabotaging infrastructure.

43) Orthodox Christian Nazbol Primitivism
First proposed within a 4chan thread on the topic of Abigail Shapiro, this ideology seeks to establish an ultra conservative eco-fascist christian ethnostate. I don’t think I will say anything more about this.

44) Techno Egoist Collectivism
The anarchist black slash joins Max Stirner’s philosophy of Egoism. Stirner is an early contemporary of Karl Marx and the Young Hegelians. He proposes a left-wing individualism premised on egoic self-interest. Stirnerists collectivize as a “union of egoists”, a voluntary and non-systematic association in contradistinction to the state. Stirner’s niche philosophy has seen an extremely online resurgence within the last few years.

45) Anarcho Technocracy
“Anarcho-Technocracy: the Politics of Things” is a 1953 essay by Harry Hooton. Hooton was previously a syndicalist and a member of the International Workers of the World (IWW). In the 20,000 word text he envisions an anarchist social arrangement for humans but a government over tools where technocrats administer maintenance and oversee production. Hooton calls for “direct action” over things.

46) Tartaria
A viral conspiracy theory, primarily disseminated through TikTok, which posits the existence of an advanced ancient civilization that was wiped out by a catastrophic flood. Proponents of this theory claim that evidence has been intentionally erased from historical records and hidden by a secretive global elite. In particular, Tartaria theorists cite the destruction of many Beaux-Arts buildings around the turn of the century when industrial processes caused modern construction materials, such as steel and glass, to became more cost effective than traditional stone and terracotta

47) Blockchain Socialism
An online community and content stream consisting of podcasts and newsletters by writer and researcher Joshua Dávila. Dávila is the author of Blockchain Radicals, a book that explores the potential for decentralized cooperative organizations online. Their token, $BREAD (pegged to the stablecoin $DAI), is “a currency for solidarity”, the proceeds of which fund post-capitalist projects on the blockchain.

48) Gender Accelerationism
A number of radical writers have attempted to claim G/acc as a political theory or movement. Among these competing interpretations are ambitious essays about time-sorcery and destroying the class system. Most commonly, there is an acknowledgment that the development of petro-capitalism has a materially feminizing effect on living creatures, like rising sea temperatures turning all the turtles into girls (this is real). For Gender Accelerationists, this process may be understood as a Deleuzian deterritorialization of the patriarchy.
